Denver has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for art galleries, breweries, fine dining, or outdoor activities (with no shortage of awesome things to do). There are many other reasons to fly into Denver, not just for Colorado’s ski resorts:

Coors Field

Fans of baseball will want to visit the 76-acre Coors Field. Baseball fans can enjoy spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains as well as kid-friendly facilities all day long at the first base and right field areas if they know what they’re in for!

Tours of the grounds are also available, both inside and outside of the baseball season, giving fans an inside peek at what goes on at the ballpark.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

“Rock history,” as U2 fans know, began in 1983 when a little-known Irish band occurred to tape a performance at what you might call nature’s music hall. While it is a stunning place to train, it is also a popular destination for those looking to get their heart rates up by running or hiking around the surrounding 868-acre nature preserve.

Museum of Clyfford Still

Our bet is on the Clyfford Still Museum if you’re looking for a surprise in Denver. The towering, cantilevered concrete tower situated next to the considerably bigger Denver Art Museum in the Golden Triangle may be overlooked at first glance. Keep an eye out for a hidden gem that is rarely crowded.

Clyfford Still, a modern artist best known for his groundbreaking abstract paintings, has a 3,200-piece collection on display at the museum dedicated to his life and work. Small drawings and landscape paintings from the 1920s are shown in a series of large exhibition halls that go chronologically through Still’s body of work, culminating in bright canvases that fill the entire wall.

Museum-goers can learn about Still’s work and the contemporary art movement through well-placed benches and conversational signage around the museum. Still’s influence on modern art can be felt throughout the museum.

The peaks of Mount Evans

It’s time to get some fresh air for you and your loved ones. The air you’ll breathe at the summit of Mount Evans is unlike any other. At 14,271 feet and Colorado’s 12th-highest mountain, you’ll be able to enjoy breathtaking vistas and a breath of fresh air.

There is no better view of Mount Bierstadt from Pikes Point or Longs Peak than from this peak. You have a few options when it comes to route planning, and while the Pikes Peak route is worthwhile, the Mt Evans route is simpler and less congested.

As you travel through the various climate zones, you’ll notice bumps in the road. The lake to the summit takes about 3-4 hours. In the spring, you’ll be able to witness an incredible variety of flowers, as well as any residual snow at the observatory. Mountain goats are also likely to be present.

Botanical Gardens of Denver

The gardens have worked hard to maintain natural ecosystems and save species, and you will be able to witness and appreciate the lasting results as you travel across the region. With its tropical environment and Japanese garden, complete with pool and lily pads, this delightful spot is a great place to visit at any time of year. Bring a picnic or eat at one of the two high-end restaurants line the street.
